No. F&B outlets, restaurants, cafés, and bars are not required to obtain authorisation from Total Sports Asia to screen FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. Authorisation is required for venues and public spaces hosting dedicated public viewings, and for corporate events.
What counts as a public viewing that requires authorisation?
A public viewing is any organised screening of FIFA World Cup 2026 matches where the event is promoted or ticketed, where a specific venue or space is set up primarily for watching the matches, or where a commercial activation is attached. This includes malls, fan zones, public squares, stadium overflow zones, outdoor screens, and corporate or community events.
How long does the process take?

Can I screen matches before I receive written authorisation?
No. Screening matches without prior written authorisation from Total Sports Asia is a breach of FIFA's commercial rights framework and may result in enforcement action. Please ensure your authorisation is in place before your event.
Do community organisations and NGOs need authorisation?
Yes. Any organisation — including community groups, NGOs, associations, and government bodies — hosting a dedicated public viewing event requires written authorisation, regardless of whether the event is free or ticketed.
